Carson City is rich in educational opportunities from pre-school to adult education.  Carson City School District handles public school education for students in grades K-12.  The district's web site contains the latest information on opportunities plus a list of schools with links to schools with web sites.  Carson High School is recognized as a mainstay model for Nevada education and, because of its size, is able to offer programs in its curriculum that are not available elsewhere in the local area.

Private or parochial schools are also available in Carson City.  Private elementary and secondary schools in Carson City offer the same core curriculum that public schools do, but they also offer religious instruction depending on the denomination of the facility.

College level educational opportunities also exist in Carson City and the local area.  Western Nevada College is based in Carson City.  For those interested in pursuing their education at the college/university level, the University of Nevada, Reno and several community colleges are within a 35 mile radius of Carson City.
