VISION
The Open Space Advisory Committee will work to sustain natural and scenic resources and the long term quality of life in Carson City.

MISSION
Reporting to the Board of Supervisors, the Open Space Advisory Committee will develop, oversee, and support the Open Space Program by working in concert with staff and the public to acquire, interpret, preserve, and enhance natural landscape, agriculture, and cultural resources while balancing the needs of the public’s opportunities for passive recreation.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Members of the public who wish to address the Open Space Advisory Committee may come forward and speak on matters related to the Committee. Comments may be limited to three minutes per person or topic. If your item requires extended discussion or action, please request the Chairperson to schedule the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.

Discussion and Possible Action: To review and approve Chapter 3 “Open Space” of the Draft Management Plan for Carson City Open Space and Parks in the Carson River Area. (Juan F. Guzman, Ann Bollinger, and Roger Moellendorf)

Discussion and Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors amendments to Carson City Municipal Code Chapter 13.06 in order to incorporate certain provisions and regulations applicable to the Open Space Program and other matters related thereto. (Juan F. Guzman and Tina Russom)

Discussion and Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors acceptance of a grant from the Recreational Trails Program, administered by the Nevada State Parks, for $34,500 for the construction of a non-motorized bridge crossing Ash Canyon Creek and the installation of a kiosk at Ash Canyon Road.
