Part-time employees are limited in the number of hours and/or the length of time they may be employed by Carson City. The benefits provided are those required by Federal and/or State laws.

  • No Nevada state income tax
  • No Social Security
  • Mandatory participation in FICA replacement program – 7.5% of gross salary
  • Medicare deduction of 1.45% of salary
  • Worker's Compensation 

Following is an overview of the generous benefit package offered to Carson City employees. Please review the individual resolution referenced at the end of the listing along with the Rules and Regulations Manual.

• Nevada PERS - contributions paid 100% by City. Participants are vested in the system after five years.
